Have your door closed during a garage door emergency.
Pulled red handle on garage door now will not open.
When the release cord is pulled it disconnects the trolley from the carriage allowing you to manually move the door.
Close the garage door.
Get a safe ladder with your remote move the belt so that the metal coupler is all the way back.
Broken spring door is slightly off the ground have someone else press the button or use a remote.
If door is closed open door all the way.
If the car is either inside or outside the garage you can hit the button to open the door.
The trolley sits on the opener carriage.
You will hear a click.
Pull both same time.
Mine is a genie but if it s a belt it should work similarly.
Allow the opener to operate without.
At that point push the button for the operator and when the trolley meets with the carriage the 2 will be connected.
The red cord is attached to a spring lever that can be put in 2 positions.
The final step is to push the button to see if it works.
If it is working properly your door should close or open without any problems.
Working inside the garage clear away all items as necessary for convenient access to the t handle the cables and the latch mechanisms on each of the outer sides of.

A trick to do this by yourself is to turn your back to the door reach one hand down to a bottom hinge or handle and your other hand up to the pull rope.
You may want to pull the cord the other way to see if that works.
Finding the manual cord is very easy and something most people won t have a tough time accomplishing.
To reconnect simply pull the red cord on an angle.
If your garage door opener has a button that opens the garage door and another button to close it press the close button.
Step 3 be sure to leave garage door closed when not in use.
Then manually move the door so that the realease mechanism is centered on metal coupler.
If it is still not working recheck the connection at the top.
Which moves the door.
Once the lever is in the opposite location push the button again.
Do not lift the door in this case.
As soon as the tension is off the door the handle should disengage easily but the door will be reallly heavy.
The red handle is there in case you lose power and can t open the door and allows you to open the door.
Do not pull so tight that you damage the cord or the lever.
If you intend to continue manual operation pull the cord toward the door which will keep it from reconnecting to the carriage.
However before you do this it is extremely important to make sure the garage door is down.
